Isotretinoina vas Acitretina en reacciones acneiformes por EGFRs
Isotretinoin vs Acitretin for EGFR Inhibitor and Small Molecule Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor Acneiform Eruptions
TAKE-HOME MESSAGE
In this case series, 6 patients on epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitor or tyrosine kinase inhibitors who then developed acneiform eruptions were treated with either isotretinoin or acitretin. Overall, 20% and 80% of isotretinoin patients had moderate or significant improvement, respectively. Both patients treated with acitretin had minimal improvement. There were no side effects associated with retinoid use in these patients.
- Treatment with both isotretinoin and acitretin led to improvement of EGFR or tyroskine kinase inhibitor-induced acneiform eruptions. Isotretinoin may lead to greater clinical improvement, although further prospective studies in larger cohorts are warranted.

Abstract
We read with great interest Andrews et al's publication on the therapeutic benefits of oral retinoids on acneiform eruptions secondary to epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitors and mitogen-activated protein kinase inhibitors, and wanted to reinforce the findings.
