Trends in the Incidence of Primary Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma in the US From 2000 to 2018
TAKE-HOME MESSAGE
In this study, data from the SEER Program were analyzed to determine the incidence of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) from 2000 to 2018 in the US. The overall incidence of CTCL was 8.55 per million with an annual percent change of 0.61% throughout the study period. Mycosis fungoides showed the highest incidence (5.42 per million), and Sézary syndrome had the greatest annual increase (3.83%).
- This study shows an increasing incidence of CTCL from 2000 to 2018, a trend that differs from previous reports showing a stable incidence rate.
Abstract
Recent incidence patterns of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) in the US are not well described. We sought to describe recent incidence trends by tumor subtype, sex, age, race and ethnicity, socioeconomic status (SES), and geography.
