Incremento en riesgo de DMT2 si hay más de un 10% de SCT comprometida en pacientes con psoriasis.

Severe Psoriasis May Increase Risk Of T2D, Study Suggests.

MedPage Today (2/7, Harrison) reports researchers found that "patients with psoriasis covering more than 10% of their body surface area (BSA) were at significantly greater risk of developing type 2 diabetes (T2DM) over approximately 4 years compared with those without psoriasis, according to a large, prospective, population-based cohort study." The researchers found, "after adjusting for age, sex, and body mass index...that patients with greater than 10% skin involvement were 64% more likely to develop T2DM at a hazard ratio (HR) of 1.64 (95% Confidence Interval (CI, 1.23-2.18) compared with patients without psoriasis." The findings were published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.
