Terapia Intralesional con C albicans vs crioterapia en verrugas vulgares.
Comparison of Intralesional Immunotherapy With Cryotherapy for Treating Warts
TAKE-HOME MESSAGE
This study compares intralesional immunotherapy using Candida albicans with cryotherapy for the treatment of warts. More patients (76.7%) achieved a complete remission in the immunotherapy group than in the cryotherapy group (56.7%). Younger patients (<24 years of age) responded better than older patients to cryotherapy. Patients were more likely to be cured when treatment of warts occurred within 2 to 6 months of appearance regardless of treatment, compared with treatment when warts had been present for >6 months beforehand.
Results from this study reveal that treatment of warts with immunotherapy was more successful than treatment with cryotherapy.
