Early Treatment With Hydroxychloroquine May Benefit People Hospitalized With SARS-CoV-2 Infection, Study Indicates
The Wall Street Journal (7/2, Hopkins, Subscription Publication) reported a study published in the International Journal of Infectious Diseases suggests early treatment with hydroxychloroquine may be beneficial for hospitalized people infected with SARS-CoV-2.
CNN (7/2, Fox, Kane, Cohen) reported researchers at the Henry Ford Health System "said Thursday its study of 2,541 hospitalized patients found that those given hydroxychloroquine were much less likely to die." In the study, "26% of those not given hydroxychloroquine died, compared to 13% of those who got the drug."
