Intravenous Immunoglobulin May Be An Effective Add-On Therapy For Certain Patients With dcSSc.
Rheumatology News (12/20, Garrett) reported that research published in the Journal of Rheumatology suggests that "intravenous immunoglobulin may be an effective add-on therapy for patients with active diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis who are unresponsive to traditional immunosuppressive treatment." Investigators came to this conclusion after studying "30 patients with refractory active diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis (dcSSc) who received treatment at the Johns Hopkins Scleroderma Center during 2004-2012."
