Shingles Vaccine May Lower Overall Stroke Risk, Study Suggests
HealthDay (2/12, Mozes) reported that while shingles is "tied to heightened risk of stroke," researchers found that "overall stroke risk dropped 20% among patients under age 80 who got the shingles vaccine" and 10% among patients who were 80 or older who received the vaccine. The findings were presented at the American Stroke Association's International Stroke Conference.
