Presión negativa mayor carga bacteriana
In a study involving 104 patients undergoing negative pressure wound therapy, the number of positive cultures was higher at six weeks follow-up than pre-therapy with Staphylococcus aureus the most-cultured pathogen, and bacterial load was moderately higher at follow-up. Twenty-six patients whose pre-NPWT wound swab was negative had a positive culture post-NPWT, 36 patients who had a positive pre-NPWT wound swab also had a positive swab post-NPWT, and 14 had developed an infection at six weeks follow-up.
