Airborne Plastic Is Everywhere, Study Suggests
The New York Times (6/11, Schwartz) reports a studypublished in Science suggests that airborne plastic is everywhere. Scientists "collected samples from 11 national parks and wilderness areas" in the US and "found tiny bits of plastic in 98 percent of the 339 samples they collected." Janice Brahney, a scientist at Utah State University and the study's lead author, said, "There's no nook or cranny on the surface of the earth that won't have microplastics. It's really unnerving to think about it."
